Description

This workshop will offer participants information about working with their English Learner population (ELs), and specific guidance in identifying how ELs process language. Participants will also learn how they can craft their instruction and practices to meet the needs of ELs at various stages of language proficiency. Participants will complete this workshop able to develop EL lessons by recognizing and defining the Stages of Language Acquisition, identifying the level of cognitive function in each of these stages and scaffolding instruction for EL learners.

When all requirements are met for completion of this workshop, participants will receive 25 professional development hours.
